But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:14 (NIV 1984)

for today!

Did you know that Cicadas (a type of insect) spend most of their life in the ground and can stay there for as many as 17 years before they come out?  Some may take much less time to do this.  When they do, they shed their old skin and start a new journey.  The Bible says “put to death the old man every day.” To renew our Spirit or commitment to our Lord each day.  To leave what was done yesterday behind and start our day anew.  Maybe it’s time we come out of the ground (world) and shed our old skin (the old man) and start our Christian walk anew.  Others will know us by the fruit we bear.  We can’t bear fruit when we are still in the ground (world) wearing that old skin.  Much faith, some faith, lost faith, no faith.  We all have room for spiritual growth.  Even if that growth is brand new.  I encourage you to join me on the better path and to make some changes today.  As long as you are breathing it is not too late.

With much love, Brian Morris

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Ephesians 6:12 (NIV 1984)

 about

Jesus put an end to the law and all its requirements, changing them when He became the new High Priest:

“For when there is a change of the priesthood, there must also be a change of the law.”
Hebrews 7:12 (NIV 1984)

Make no mistake, Jesus came to this earth the first time to die so that we might live.  However, make no mistake He became the new High Priest and as was His right He changed the law.  When you accept Him as your Savior you are accepting the New Law He ushered in, not some convoluted mixture of the one He replaced with the one He introduced.

Jesus gave us two Commandments:
1.  Love God with every fiber of your being.
2.  Love others as yourself.

Statement of Faith

I believe …
in the Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy; and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct

I believe …
in one God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob

I believe …
in the Lord Jesus Christ as the only begotten son, born of a virgin, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His intermediary work, and His Personal return in power and glory

I believe …
in the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ

I believe …
the “Christian” church has been compromised as prophesied by the Apostle Paul when speaking to the elders of Ephesus saying, “I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.  Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.  So be on your guard!  Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.” Acts 20:29-31 (NIV 1984)

Giving Is About The Heart Not The Wallet

In 2005, while holding her hand, my mother left this world and entered eternity.  As I looked about her room that day and handled her estate in the days that followed I can attest to the fact that my mother took none of the worldly possessions she and my father had accumulated, but she did not enter eternity empty handed because she took with her a piece of my heart and a piece of the hearts of those who loved her.

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV 1984)
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23-24 (NIV 1984)

media

This section exists to meet the needs of the busy lives that often distract us from having a more intimate relationship with God.  Knowing God better is simply a matter of listening to what He had to say about this life and the next (eternity).  Here you will find a video reading of each book of the New Testament, chapter by chapter.  These are bite size readings that will help you get to know your Savior better without taking too much time!  So, hover your cursor over the media title at the top to reveal the other sections.

Every human being knows that a relationship takes time and commitment.

If you marry someone yet never take the time to get to know them better, before long you will end up in divorce court.

A Lesson In Sin

I was looking at a Christian news site and came across an old article about Mr. Robertson of “Duck Dynasty” quoting, out of context, from the book of 1 Corinthians.  Mr. Robertson was asked what in h …

Don’t Give Up!

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am not short on opinions, but that does not mean I am always correct it just means I will speak up and call it as I see it.  I enjoy interacting with others but don’t always have the time because it is a small part of what I believe God has called me to.
