Don’t Give Up!
Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am not short on opinions, but that does not mean I am always correct it just means I will speak up and call it as I see it. I enjoy interacting with others but don’t always have the time because it is a small part of what I believe God has called me to. I know little to nothing about blogs and how to let you interact with this site so please bare with me as I try new things which equates to … I may screw this up but eventually I will figure it out.
I ran into a former church family member the other day and was truly broken hearted to hear all that she has had to learn at the hands of organized religion. It is a shame that we must all learn it and make our decision to stay and help it live or leave and follow after Jesus. We have all been so conditioned into accepting churches as representatives of the Jesus we have chosen to follow and the idea that we are meant to be a part of those various bodies/entities. I believe the most common line I hear from organized religion is the warning found in Hebrews 10:25 about not abandoning the regular practice of meeting with other followers because we need each other to stay the course. It is true that we draw strength from each other but it is also true that we must stay in close contact with the Holy Spirit to ensure we have rightly discerned who the true followers are! The deceptions being played out by the leadership of organized religion right before our very eyes are unbelievably good and it is usually only visible the closer you get to the top. It reminds me of something I learned years ago on active duty; when there is a problem in the organization look up for the cause and down for the effect.
If you sense something is not right at your church, run, don’t walk away from it. Seek God through the New Testament on your own and get together from time to time with the others who saw what you saw and had to get away themselves. We need the strength and friendships of true seekers but the others we need to steer clear from. Jesus was not lying when he told us the road to him is narrow and few find it. You are more than likely one of the few. Hang in there and find each other because it is going to get a lot worse. Be Blessed my brothers and sisters.
Sister, thank you for speaking the truth. I appreciate your dedication to studying the Word and bringing to light truth that the organized church has been blind to for years. I am encouraged to see this website as i know many have been wounded by organized religion and they need a safe place to come so they too can be encouraged.
